Estonian Maritime Admistration have advised that temporarily, from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021, all vessels will be exempted from paying the waterway dues. All vessels are exempted from the waterway dues, regardless of the type and flag of the vessel and whether the vessel enters the port or remains on the road.

For vessels engaged in regular voyages, which were charged a monthly waterway dues for no more than five port calls, no more waterway dues payment notifications will be submitted in 2020. Thus, in 2020, a ship engaged in regular voyages will pay a waterway dues for a maximum of 15 visits instead of the usual 60.

In 2021, for the period from 1 April to 31 December, the maximum number of visits subject to a waterway dues shall be as follows:

- a passenger ship 45 times, including a regular passenger ship for half the visits, but not more than 45 times;

- cruise ship 3 times;

- other ship 8 times.
